PURDY CRAWFORD CHAIR IN BUSINESS LAWTenured or tenure-track appointment to the Purdy Crawford Chair in Business Law at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, to commence July 1, 2012.
The Purdy Crawford Chair in Business Law, named after Mr Purdy Crawford (LLB ’55) and established in 2001, was created through the generous support of alumni and friends of the Schulich School of Law (then Dalhousie Law School).
The Faculty seeks applications from scholars of international reputation in the field of business law, including, but not restricted to, scholars with an interest in corporate law and theory, securities regulation, finance, bankruptcy and insolvency, taxation, competition law, and other related fields. The term for the chair is five years and is renewable. The appointment is subject to budgetary approval.

THE SCHULICH DISTINGUISHED VISITING SCHOLARCall for Expressions of Interest (2012 �2013): The Schulich Distinguished Visiting Scholar, an academic with an established record of scholarly achievement, will beexpected to enliven the intellectual life of the faculty by participating in our scholarly activities (giving a public seminar or lecture) and by teaching one course (to be determined in consultation with the Dean). He or she will be expected to spend a minimum of one term (either September through December or January through April) at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and may spend the academic year.
The Schulich Distinguished Visiting Scholar will receive a stipend of up to $20,000. We welcome applications received by December 1, 2011.

THE SCHULICH FELLOWSHIPCall for Expressions of Interest: The Schulich Fellow is expected to participate actively in the intellectual life of the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in a way that supports his or her development as a scholar and teacher. The Schulich Fellow is expected to teach up to six credits (possibly in the first year program) and to participate actively in the scholarly activities of the faculty, including by participating in the faculty seminar series.
It is anticipated that he or she will be working toward publishing parts of his or her graduate work and conducting new research. It is not anticipated that the Fellow will carry administrative responsibilities. The Fellow is expected to be in residence at the School from the beginning of August 2012 through the end of May 2013.
Applications will be adjudicated on a combination of academic record (including research productivity) and the fit between the applicant’s research and teaching interests and the clusters of research and teaching at the School. Applicants are
expected to be doctoral students in at least their third year of their doctoral studies.The Schulich Fellow will receive a stipend of up to $40,000. We welcome applications received by December 15, 2011.

ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, OR FULL PROFESSOR APPOINTMENTS
We invite applications for probationary tenure�track or tenure�track appointments at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, to commence July 1, 2012.
The Faculty welcomes applications from scholars with an interest in all areas of teaching and research and seeks candidates with superior academic background and demonstrated achievement or potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship.
We are interested in scholars with a demonstrated interest in teaching courses in the broad fields of public and constitutional law, private law, criminal law, business law, and legal ethics and professionalism.
Suitable candidates will hold an LLB/JD degree and a relevant graduate degree.

LIMITED-TERM APPOINTMENTS
Applications from interested individuals will be considered for full-time limited-term teaching appointments at all ranks that arise from time to time. These positions depend on curricular needs and budgetary resources. Applicants should have a graduate degree in law or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Applications will be reviewed upon receipt and recommendations made up to June 30, 2012.
