LAWS 2700 - Queen's/Dalhousie Spring International Law Program
Official Course Description:
This joint Queen’s/Dalhousie Program provides students with an intensive and integrated academic program in international law. The program is offered at the International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, U.K. for 8 weeks in May and June of each year. Students enroll in one of two modules: International Business Law or Public International Law. All students begin with a two-week Public International Law course and then split into separate module groups (Public and Business). The International Business Law students study International Trade and Investment and International Commercial Arbitration; the Public International Law students study International Human Rights Law and International Criminal Law. The program includes various field trips, including a trip to Brussels, The Hague, Paris and Geneva. Dalhousie students can earn nine credits for successfully completing either module. Applications are due by March each year, but seats often go quickly so early applications are encouraged. There is an information session held in the fall term at Dalhousie Law School each year, and further details of the program and course descriptions can be found on the Queen’s Law website at http://law.queensu.ca/international/SpringProgramAtTheISC.html. Dalhousie students who are interested in the program should contact Associate Dean Michael Deturbide or Assistant Dean Elizabeth Hughes for more details.
