The International Ocean Institute's major publication is the Ocean Yearbook, published by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers (an imprint of Brill) in cooperation with the Marine & Environmental Law Institute at the Schulich School of Law. Ocean Yearbook was founded by the late Elisabeth Mann Borgese and is currently edited by Aldo Chircop, Moira L. McConnell, and Scott Coffen-Smout. The editorial offices of Ocean Yearbook are in the Marine & Environmental Law Institute, Schulich School of Law. Twenty-five volumes have been published to date, with the University of Chicago Press publishing volumes 1-19. |

Ocean Yearbook Student Prize
The Ocean Yearbook Student Prize is an annual competition open to students writing research papers on marine affairs subjects at any university or other tertiary education institution.
Congratulations to the 2011 Ocean Yearbook Student Prize winner, Joshua Nodelman, for his paper "Admiralty Law, the Law of the Sea Convention, and the Material Culture of Historical Shipwrecks." It will be published in the next Ocean Yearbook Volume.
