Applying to Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law

  1. Complete an application form.
  2. The following information should accompany your application:

    1. An official law school transcript (the most recent)
    2. A resume
    3. A letter written by you explaining your interests in the exchange program
    4. A letter of permission from your law school
    5. An evaluation of your knowledge of English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), for those whose first language is not English.

  3. Deadlines for submitting applications are:

    • For the fall semester (September - December), April 30th
    • For the Spring semester (January - April), October 15th

  4. Send your completed applications to the Associate Dean, Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, 6061 University Avenue, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada B3H 4H9
  5. If you require additional information, please contact Professor Elizabeth Hughes, Assistant Dean, Academic.

If you have been accepted to participate in an exchange at Dalhousie:

  1. Please note that the home tuition rule applies. You will pay tuition to your home instutition, not Dalhousie.
  2. You are responsible for finding your own accommodation but there is housing information provided by the university.
  3. You should ensure adequate health insurance for your exchange visit.
  4. Course selection should be finalized through Professor Elizabeth Hughes. Course listings are available at the Dalhouse Law Programs page.
