For Dalhousie students

Interested in studying at a NACLE institution? Here's what you've got to do:

  1. Find out more about the NACLE program and the participating universities. A student information session on all international exchanges, including NACLE, is normally held each November. You may also consult the information folders on NACLE partner institutions available at the Sir James Dunn Law Library Reference Desk (under Exchange Programs).
  2. Apply to Dalhousie for permission to study at a NACLE institution. There is a single deadline for all exchange program applications, normally on or about February 15 of each year. Applications should be submitted to the Chair of the International Linkages Committee and should include a resume, a letter of interest setting out the reasons for pursuing an exchange, your most recent law school transcript and an indication of whether you wish to be considered for limited financial assistance. An overall grade average of B at Dalhousie will normally be required for exchange students.
  3. Students will be notified by the Linkages Committee in early-mid March whether they have been accepted for a NACLE exchange and whether financial assistance will be available.
  4. Limited funding may be available for Dalhousie students through International Student and Exchange Services Offices of the Lester Pearson Institute (see below).
  5. If you have been accepted by Dalhousie to participate in a NACLE exchange, you will have to complete the application requirements at the participating universities. Some universities limit the number of foreign students they will accept in any given year.
  6. You are also required to attend an orientation session for Dalhousie students studying abroad offered though Dalhousie's International Student Exchange Office, Lester Pearson Institute.  Please contact the International Exchange Program Coordinator at Dalhousie regarding orientation schedule and other information requirements.
